During the conversation, Secretary Yu Zirong first expressed warm welcome to Ambassador Tao Aika Utahato’s visit to our bureau for the first time. He stated that Zhongtang is a traditional friendly country and Tonga King Tupu VI successfully visited China in March this year to promote the new and greater development of the strategic partnership between China and Tangen. China will actively implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state. At present, all the Aidou projects managed by the Bureau are progressing smoothly. We hope to work together with the Tonga Embassy in China to promote the successful implementation of follow-up projects.

Ambassador Utaat said that he is grateful to China for its hard work in aiding the various projects. Tang is willing to continue to strengthen cooperation with China. The embassy in China will actively coordinate with relevant domestic departments to promote the follow-up implementation of the projects. At the same time, we hope to establish a working mechanism with the Economic Cooperation Bureau to communicate regularly the progress and problems of the project.

Afterwards, the two sides exchanged views on the progress, existing problems, and follow-up work arrangements of the sports facilities, agricultural technical assistance, and sports technical assistance programs of the Tongan Nantai Sports Meet managed by the Bureau.
